Nature as an Antidote to Anxiety
Niki Buchan Australia

World Forum Australian resident, Niki Buchan sat down with us in Macao, China back in April 2019 to share her passion for connecting children to nature. Niki, originally from South Africa discussed the healing power of nature, the need to focus on well-being of children before academics, and the importance of  advocating for natural learning environments. She shares that time in nature has numerous benefits such as a child’s presence in natural environments provides appropriate stimulation causing better academic performance, and natural spaces spark curiosity because they are less predictable giving children the opportunities during play to practice and understand risk.

People who commit their lives to young children and their families have powerful stories to tell and we can find our own hope and inspiration as we listen.  WoFo Global Café is the space where people gather to share their stories.  Stop by for tea and find affirmation and companionship.
