“No time is more appropriate than now to build a culture of peace. No social responsibility is greater nor task heavier than that of securing peace on our planet on a sustainable foundation.” from Peace Education: A Pathway to a Culture of Peace, written by Loreta Navarro-Castro and Jasmin Nario-Galace (2019), Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the UN.
On November 5, 2025 we gathered in the WoFo Global Café to discuss how to support the development of the building blocks for peace, such as compassion and empathy, in young children in order to build a more peaceful world and future for us all. From practical how-to ideas to exploring larger concepts and their societal impact, this discussion was a rich and meaningful opportunity to learn together.
